Discovery Suite
The ESTeem Discovery Suite is a collection of software utilities for the programming of the ESTeem series radios. This utility functions with all current models of ESTeem products.
The ESTeem Discovery Suite is a Java™ based application toolbox, compatible with any computer operating system (Windows, Linux, Mac, etc).
Features
This utility will provide unique features for each series of ESTeem radio:
Horizon Series – The Discovery Suite will display all Horizon series wireless modems connected to the computer’s Ethernet connection regardless of their current IP address. This utility will allow modification of the modem’s IP address to the network of the computer for further configuration through a Web browser. The Discovery software can be used for software updates and contains a utility to display all remote receive signal strengths for quick antenna alignment.
Edge 900 – The configuration utility for programming, troubleshooting and a spectrum analyzer for the Edge 900 MHz radio is contained within the ESTeem Discovery Suite. This utility will be launched automatically when you select to configure an Edge 900 MHz radio.

Model 195M/H/C Narrowband Radios – The Discovery Suite software can be used to change the IP address in the radio to match the network configuration. The Discovery Suite also contains the 195 Narrowband Configuration utility that is used for all programming and troubleshooting of radio. This utility is used for setting the frequency, PLC emulations, diagnostics and has a built-in spectrum analyzer.
February 2023 – 195 Narrowband Firmware release update instructions
This February 2023 firmware release for the ESTeem 195 Narrowband series is a generational update that will require all radios in the network to be at this firmware version with March 2022 firmware (or newer) to communicate reliably. This firmware release consolidated three previous versions into a single revision. Multiple software commands, security, radio parameters and features were added to this release that can only be utilized when all radios are of the same firmware revision. No hardware updates to the radio are conducted, so if a previous version of the firmware is working for your application and the new features are not needed, the 195 Narrowband radios can be downgraded to a previous version.
Legacy 195NB Firmware – Use this if the new 195 Narrowband features in the March 2022 through January 2023 releases are not required or a previous version is installed in the network and no updates are wanted.
Installation
Each ESTeem Utility Program is in a compressed ZIP file. When asked to Open the File or Save to Disk, select Save to Disk. Place the file in its own directory on your hard drive, open the Zip file and run the executable program.

The application requires two (2) additional support files to operate:
Java – Downloadable from http://www.java.com. The version required will be based upon your operating system.Note: The installation and updates from Java may try and install additional web browser toolbars. Uncheck the optional installation if they are not desired.
Npcap – Downloadable from https://nmap.org/download.html. Select the latest stable version of the utility for your operating system. The Npcap free addition is supported up to Windows version 10. The version required will be based upon your operating system.
NOTE: The Java Runtime and Npcap must be installed prior to operation of this utility.
ESTeem Network Suite (ENS)
Horizon Models – Horizon 900, Horizon 2.4, Horizon 4.9 & Horizon 5.8
Programming
The ESTeem Network Suite (ENS) is a software program designed to greatly simplify the configuration of your ESTeem Horizon wireless Ethernet network. The Network Suite program will allow graphical, point-and-click configuration of your network routing and then configure each ESTeem radio for the network as designed. The ENS program will eliminate the need to program or update each ESTeem wireless modem individually.
Monitoring
We’re pleased to announce that the ESTeem Networking Suite (ENS) software for our Horizon series of industrial radios now incorporates a real-time monitoring utility.
This new function will display the key operating features of the wireless network:
• Received signal strength values from both sides of the wireless link• RF data rates• Wireless connection status (connected/disconnected)• Mesh network status, which details which links in the wireless network are being used
These critical networking details have been available in the Horizon series through Modbus/TCP tags in each radio, but this data is now displayed in the same configuration file used when programming the radios.
